Dioxins and Furans – EN 1948 Filter Condenser Method

The filter is placed after the probe.   The filter has to be kept below 125 ° C but above the flue gas dew point.   When high dust loading is expected a quartz wool filter or a cyclone may be incorporated into the sampling train before the filter to prevent the filter from being overloaded.   Downstream a condenser is attached.   The sample gas is cooled to below 20 ° C.   The gaseous and aerosol parts of the PCDDs and PCDFs are captured by impingers and/or solid adsorbents. This method uses a heated titanium lined nozzle and sampling line.
