Building Noise and Sound Insulation Testing

Noise is becoming an increasingly critical issue in the planning and construction of urban and industrial developments.

 

Requirements on the construction of dwelling house, flats and rooms for residential purposes have been implemented in the UK for noise monitoring. These requirements are also expected to be implemented in the Republic of Ireland in the near future.

 

The regulations set out minimum airborne and impact sound requirements for the fabric of walls, floors and stairs. Sound insulation testing is a requirement for all new buildings constructed in the UK.

 

EURO environmental services can carry out sound insulation testing in accordance with BS EN ISO 140-7:1998, BS EN ISO 717-1:1997, BS EN ISO 717-2:1997 and BS EN 20354:1993.
