Oakfield Nursing Home, Wexford
Oakfield Nursing Home contracted EURO environmental services to assist them in applying for a discharge application for a Nursing Home in Wexford. The site had been granted planning permission, however, there were a number of issues with the assimilative capacity of the proposed surface water near the site. These issues had a serious impact on the future commercial viability of the site.
EURO environmental services carried out flow monitoring on a number of suitable surface water discharge points in the area. Chemical analysis was also carried out in our UKAS and INAB accredited laboratories. Assimilative capacities were calculated for both BOD and Total Phosphate loadings.
Proposals were reviewed by suppliers of waste water treatment plant equipment to determine the most suitable system which could be installed on the site, and ensure the site, met stringent discharge requirements proposed by Wexford County Council. The proposals were accepted by the Council and a discharge licence issued, permitting all proposed activities to be carried out on site.
