Noise Impact Assessment and Prediction – Proposed Park & Ride Facility, Northern Ireland
EURO environmental services were commissioned to conduct a noise impact assessment relating to the proposed development of a Park and Ride facility in
Northern Ireland.
The construction and operation of the Park and Ride facility has the potential to change noise levels in the area. This assessment considers the impacts of construction noise, changes in traffic noise levels as a result of the development and operational noise levels generated by the Park and Ride Site itself.
EURO environmental services carried out the noise assessment study which included the following:
-
Monitoring the existing baseline noise levels at two noise sensitive receptors in proximity to the proposed development;
-
Prediction of the impact of construction phase noise on the two noise sensitive receptors;
-
Predictive modelling of the changes in road traffic noise during the operational phase of the proposed park and ride facility on the noise sensitive receptors; and
-
Prediction of the changes in the noise climate due to operational noise generated within the park and ride facility and the associated impact on noise sensitive receptors.
The above study was used as part of the Environmental Impact Study for the proposed development.
