EURO environmental services were commissioned by a large Hotel Group to carry out an assessment of a proposed hotel building and its predicted energy requirements.
Having been involved from the planning stage and having data from other sites, allowed us to carry out a comprehensive assessment of the predicted energy requirements from the following systems:
Electrical systems were set up such that monitoring could be carried out on heating, ventilation and lighting systems.
This together with degree days allowed the company to calculate a cost per occupied room and make improvements as required. It also allowed the company to optimise its heating requirements.
A review of room lighting was carried out to assess the total power requirement and the actual lighting requirement of the rooms.
Point source lighting reduced the overall energy requirement for lighting.
Optimisation of these systems is expected to yield savings of 35%.
