Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) Testing (September 2008)

Here, at Euro Environmental we provide all analysis used to classify waste as Inert, Non-Hazardous and Hazardous. We also provide to clients a WAC certificate giving analysis result comparison with parameter thresholds for each waste category. This allows clients easy identification of waste type under current legislation.

Under the 1999 EU Landfill Directive (1999/31/EC) landfill sites must be classified as Hazardous, Non-Hazardous or Inert waste landfills according to the type of waste they will receive in order to reduce the negative effects of landfill.

The EU Landfill Directive has been transposed into national legislation by the Waste Management (Licensing) Regulations, 2000 (S.I. No.185 of 2000), the Waste Management (Licensing) (Amendment) Regulations, 2002 (S.I.No.336 of 2002) and the European Communities (Amendment of Waste Management (Licensing) Regulations, 2002) (S.I.N0.337 of 2002).
