EURO environmental services currently have a Senior Field Scientist who has undertaken the FAS/EPA Course on Site Suitability Assessment for On-site Wastewater Treatment Systems for Single Houses.
At present we are in a position to offer our customers a discounted price for carrying out a site suitability assessment so we can incorporate the findings as part of a case study.
A site suitability assessment comprises of a number of procedures spread out over a number of days. The breakdown is as follows:
Day 1: Desk study of the proposed plans and details of the site in order to determine the suitability.
A proposed water supply for conducting the percolation test should also be considered at this stage (Well, Mains etc.) as approximately 600 litres of water is required.
Day 2: EURO technician arrives on-site and supervises the digging of the trial hole.
He will then carry out a soil classification and assessment of the soil to determine if the site is suitable to support the percolation.
If the technician is satisfied he will then supervise the digging of 2 P-test and 2 T-test holes in the proposed percolation area.
The test holes will then be filled with water (pre-soaked) and allowed to percolate.
The holes should then be filled again at 5 pm and allowed to percolate overnight (2nd pre-soak).
Day 3: The technician will arrive on-site and carry out a percolation test in accordance with criteria outlined by the EPA.
On completion of the site suitability assessment, the technician will then prepare a report based on his findings and advise the customer on whether the proposed percolation area has passed or failed.
