Private Drinking Water Well Contamination (March 2008)

A new report details households’ private well water is at risk of contracting a potentially lethal strain of E. Coli.   Some 200,000 homes in Ireland use private wells or scheme to provide their water.   The report shows that outbreaks of the dangerous E. Coli 0157 strain were linked to contaminated private wells.
